Members of the Class of 2019 at Baltimore School for the Arts have overcome incredible challenges to create an exciting path forward. Their hard work and perseverance have earned them placement at some of the top programs in the world; and 10% of this class received full tuition or full-ride scholarships to college. Their curiosity and determination will take some abroad, some to community college and four-year universities, and a handful to gap years or the military.
Ninety-three percent of our students applied to college, and 100 percent of these students were accepted. BSA students were offered admission into some of the best colleges, universities, and conservatories in the world, including: Bucknell University; the Cooper Union; the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester; the London Academy of Dramatic Arts; MICA; the Peabody Institute; Princeton University; the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; UCLA; University of Maryland, College Park; University of Michigan; University of Miami; University of North Carolina School of the Arts; University of Southern California; and Vassar College, among others. Five of our students will attend college abroad.
Fifteen students are starting at community colleges, with the intention of transferring to 4-year schools. Several of our students have also elected to take a gap year, and will be starting college Fall 2020. A few students have also been offered opportunities directly in their artistic fields. One student will be joining the Air Force.
The Class of 2019 earned $15,528,577 million in scholarships, and its members received numerous national and state honors.
Over the years, we’ve discovered the resilience and determination of BSA students have enabled them to make dramatic contributions in their career fields and in their communities. We’re confident the Class of 2019 will boast similar achievements.
Congratulations to the Class of 2019! We are so excited to welcome you as BSA alumni!
