Auditions
Thanks for your interest in auditioning for the Baltimore School for the Arts!
Admission is based solely on an audition and an interview. Current 8th and 9th grade students may audition in one or two art areas: Dance, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Film and Visual Storytelling, Theatre, Stage Design and Production, and Visual Arts.
Here’s how it works:
First, our Open House for this year has already passed. If you weren’t able to come, that’s OK. Reach out to us if you have any questions.
Second, complete an application form to request an audition. Applications are due November 20, 2019. Applications can be emailed to highschoolauditions@bsfa.org, dropped off in person at the front lobby of the school, or mailed to Lisa Peels, Baltimore School for the Arts, 712 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
Third, audition appointment letters will be mailed the last week of December. Auditions will be held January 21-27, 2020.
Audition Instructions
Below are the audition instructions. Remember, you can audition for two different art disciplines. However, you can only enroll in one field, even if you are accepted to both programs.

Our optional Shadow Day program enables you to visit art classes and get the inside scoop on what life is like as a BSA student.
