As another group of seniors prepares to transition from being BSA students to being BSA alumni, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the Class of 2017.
One-hundred percent of the students who applied to college were accepted—a noteworthy accomplishment. For the last four years, our students have persevered, even when it wasn’t easy, and earned their seat at university.
From Julliard to Vassar, our students will be attending some of the best conservatories and academic institutions in the country, including Boston Conservatory at Berklee; Haverford College; New York University; Oberlin Conservatory of Music; Pomona; Rhode Island School of Design; Smith; University of Chicago; University of Maryland, College Park; and Washington University in St. Louis.
The state of Maryland happens to be home to first-rate colleges at more affordable prices, and BSA has been encouraging its students to explore these excellent options locally. We’re excited to announce 32% of our graduating class will be attending a public school in Maryland next year.
Three students will be joining professional dance companies: Alabama Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Washington Ballet. One student will be entering the U.S. Army.
Overall, 95% of our graduating class will be starting college in the fall or dancing with a professional company.
The Class of 2017 also earned $14,271,265 million in scholarships, and its members received numerous honors. Emeline Boehringer was selected to be a National Merit Scholar, on the basis of her Pre-SAT score, written essay, extracurricular involvement, and leadership skills.
We’re incredibly proud of the Class of 2017, and can’t wait to see all of the great things they do!
