Ways To Give

Ways to give!

A gift to Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) is more than a financial contribution; it is an investment in the future of young artists. Your support ensures that our talented and resilient creatives may continue their studies that foster their growth as individuals and citizen artists. Approximately 40% of the annual school & outreach funding is contributed by our philanthropic community.

Monthly Gift

Recurring gifts of any amount have a major impact. Giving monthly allows us to enhance school programs that challenge the dynamic talents of our students, support our remarkable teachers and the innovative curricula they create, and support the arts and academic opportunities critical to a BSA education.

Matching Gifts

Parents, alumni, and friends can maximize personal contributions to BSA with corporate matching gifts. If you work for or have retired from a company that has a matching gift program, you may be able to double or even triple your gift to BSA!

Make a Gift

Gift of Stocks and Mutual Funds

Transferring securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds that have grown in value is a particularly beneficial way for you to support BSA.  As a reminder, capital gains tax on the increased value is avoided and you may receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of what you give on the day of transfer. Securities may be given to BSA by transferring them through your broker to BSA.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

If you have a Donor Advised Fund, make sure the money you have set aside is put to good use!  Recommend BSA to your fund manager.  There are no transaction fees. 100% of your recommended grant supports BSA!

Fund for the Future

In the face of uncertain public funding, ther financial stability achieved through endowed funds has never been more essential. We are grateful for the generous support of so many in helping us to build BSA’s endowed fund.

The IRA Gift (Qualified Charitable Distribution)

Here is a tax-smart way to make an impact on Baltimore City’s young artists. If you are 70.5 or older you can reduce your taxable income by making a direct gift to BSA from the required maximum distribution in a Traditional IRA (up to $100,000 annually for individuals, and up to $200,000 for a married couple).

The Legacy at BSA

The simplest way to make a planned gift is by naming BSA in your will. When you make a gift in your will to the Baltimore School for the Arts, you leave a legacy of generosity that has a dramatic impact on the lives of our students. And you can do this through a bequest without changing your current financial situation. With the help of your attorney, a bequest can be added to your will or living trust in as little as one sentence.
